Originally from Mississippi, Hunter Slay moved to Florida in 2001 to pursue music production as a career. He graduated from Full Sail University in 2002 with a degree in Recording Arts, and returned two years as an instructor in multiple courses there. In those two short years, Hunter had already written an entire season of music for a television series, scored a play, and licensed a considerable number of songs for commercial and web use.

He also managed to squeeze in regular DJ gigs at several Orlando hot spots such as Knock Knock, Sky60, Ybor's, Crooked Bayou, Peacock Room, Red Square, Alpha Bar, and The Grotto. Hunter’s teaching career eventually pulled him away from DJ’ing in 2003, and propelled him into the studio where his focus remained for the next five years.

After endless hours of polishing his craft, experimenting with all genres, and perfecting his recipes, Hunter developed an arsenal of skills to take on the City of Angels, Since his move to Los Angeles in October 2008, he has already secured a residency at Libertine on Sunset where you can find him every Thursday opening for local celebrity Johnny Hawkes and DJ LaniAkea's Sundown Motel.
