Beatport is a crazy place. I don’t want to start an ego massage at the risk of turning this place into a day spa, but the creative types are bountiful within these walls. It seems like most everyone around here not only has loads of talent, but also a unique passion. One such representative of our staff is Christina Duran. She’s a spicy, pint-sized package with main stage talents. Remember Superman? Piss-poor reporter, but a hell of a crime fighter… Well, Christina got both of her grounds covered solidly; an integral part of the Beatport system by day and captivating crowd rocker by night. We had to wait until Christina slowed to a blur to hit her up for ‘We Know The Feeling’ and here (finally) are the results.

Chase & Status and Leftfield are among those first announced to play at Liverpool Music Week this year.

The event begins 29th October and runs throughout November. Efterklang, Dan le Sac v. Scroobius Pip, Beardyman, Hadouken and K’Naan are also set to perform at the festival.

Going strong for eight years now, Liverpool Music Week has become the UK’s biggest indoor winter music festival showcasing big name acts alongside emerging talents. 2010’s event features over 80 events hosting over 400 live bands.

Two of the planet’s most prolific electro house producers and have finally collaborated on of this month’s most hotly anticipated records. Already receiving massive airplay, the record has already won the adulation Zane Lowe’s (Radio 1’s prime time DJ) ‘Hottest Record of the Week’ and is now available exclusively to Beatport. In August Wolfgang Gartner signed a worldwide partnership deal with award winning label, Ultra Music. Having recently topped the Beatport Top 100 with his collaboration with Toolroom stalwart, Mark Knight on ‘Conscindo’ 2010 is looking to be a very promising year for the Californian producer. Deadmau5, aka Joel Zimmerman is going from strength to strength in 2010 and will be serving as the “house artist” at the forthcoming MTV Music awards on September 12th.

DJ superstars Paul Oakenfold, Armin van Buuren and Paul van Dyk have teamed up to release a charity single as a homage to those affected by the Love Parade tragedy.

‘Remember Love’ is dedicated to the 21 people killed, the 500 who were injured and all those who attended the event back on 24th July. Due to overcrowding in a tunnel entrance to the festival site, a panic broke out resulting in the tragic turn of events. Now, the festival will not run again in respect of those who were killed.

The track, which is a mix of each of the three DJ's sounds, will be available under the collaborative name of DJs United from 10th September exclusively on Beatport for two weeks. The proceeds will go to the victims, their families and those in need of medical or psychological support.

Goldfrapp are the latest artists to bring out their very own iPhone app in the form of Goldfrapp Pinball.

The app is a completely free-to-download 3D pinball game, which allows you to remix samples from the band’s latest ‘Head First’ album. Simply tap and tilt the screen to power the ball and as it collides with objects different sound samples are triggered, creating your very own unique mix of their tracks while you play pinball.

Goldrapp’s brand new single ‘Believer’ is released today and they’ll be embarking on a UK tour throughout November.

If you've ever thought about making the pilgrimage to Ibiza for a Circo Loco session at DC-10, this video of Clive Henry playing this season's opening party gives a pretty good idea of what to expect.

The all-new studio rekkid from DJ Fresh drops this week. To coincide with the 10-track release of brand new goodness, the first single ‘Gold Dust’ gets a little promo with the help of this video. The album rings out with the kind of dnb that the former Bad Company (UK) member is known for, with the exception of two tracks that exercise a little dubstep flavor. Fresh invites some vocal talent to lend a hand as well, like Koko a.k.a. Yolanda Quartley of Massive Attack, Jamaican 'Bad Gyal' Ce'Cile (who appears as the voice in the video featured here) and female vocalist Valkyrie of the UK group Bee Stings. The long time microphone master familiar to most drum and bass fans, Stamina MC makes and appearance along side the UK production duo Sigma as all parties come together to collaborate on the track 'Lassitude.'
